Finance Clerk - AR
Examination Announcement


The City of Xenia is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for Accounts Receivable Finance Clerk. Applicants must first pass a written examination to be further considered for employment. 

Upon certification of the eligibility list, successful applicants will be required to demonstrate proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute and operate a ten-key numeric key pad at 11,500 strokes per minute within six months of employment.

Xenia Municipal Court
Deputy Bailiff (Part-Time)
Pay Range: $19.15 - $28.29, DOQ

The Xenia Municipal Court is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Deputy Bailiff. This position is responsible for the following tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the Chief Bailiff in maintaining and enforcing the policies and procedures of the XMC Security Handbook.
  • Successfully complete Bailiff Training Academy, including firearms and/or taser certification and qualification.
  • Screen all visitors and all purses, briefcases, packages and other personal items entering the courtroom.
  • Assist the Chief Bailiff in conducting all Municipal Court sessions, including handling of case files and their presentation for hearing to the Judge, escort of defendants and other persons to the Bench and other Court offices. 
  • Investigate factual issues at the direction of the Judge relative to any particular defendant or pending case, on issues such as bond, addresses of defendants, and other pertinent case file issues.
  • Assist the Chief Bailiff in establishing and maintaining proper decorum in the courtroom for all Bailiffs and the general public. 
  • Swear in witnesses.
  • Assist the Chief Bailiff in the maintenance of courtroom sound, recording and video equipment and the operation of the same. 
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of related work experience in the Court, law enforcement or the criminal justice field.

Office Aide (Part-Time)
Pay Range: $8.15 - $17.96 Hourly, DOQ

The City of Xenia is seeking qualified applicants to fill an Office Aide position working approximately 30 hours per month to support the City Clerk's Office. Duties include attending regular evening City Board and Commission meetings, operating recording equipment, conducting roll calls, taking meeting notes, and conveying oral information into clear, concise, and professional minutes that correctly reflect the substance of the discussions. The position will also serve as a backup to the City Clerk in attending City Council meetings. Two (2) years of clerical experience and knowledge of technical writing rules and standards are required. Applicants with excellent grammatical and writing skills are desired. A writing sample would be appreciated but not required to apply.

Minimum requirements: Qualified, dependable candidates will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and be proficient with Microsoft Word. Candidates should also have operating knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and other Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates must have access to email and the internet. Applicants must have the ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm. A typing test and/or Microsoft Word test may be required.

The City of Xenia is accepting applications for summer employment for streetscape and park maintenance.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City's insurance policy. Deputy Clerk - Assignment
Full-Time
Pay Range: $18.77 - $27.74, DOQ

The Xenia Municipal Court is seeking qualified applicants for Deputy Clerk. This position is responsible for the following tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain the court docket for all hearings, trials and court proceedings, entering docket entries into the Court CMS.
  • Pull and prepare case files for the daily court agenda.
  • Coordinate meeting of defendants with attorneys, prosecutors, etc.
  • Process time waivers for "not guilty" pleas.
  • Process pretrial agreements from the Prosecutor.
  • Prepare and process driving privileges on pending cases.
  • Track defendants to attend remedial driving classes.
  • Process bench warrants for no-shows.
  • Monitor Rule 4's, extraditions.
  • Monitor Supreme Court timelines on traffic/criminal cases.
  • Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant work experience, including court or law office experience, or any combination of education and experience; outstanding written and verbal communication skills; and demonstrate proficiency with computer software programs.
