Sterling Green is the City’s largest neighborhood park in terms of developable area and is highly visible and well-connected to the surrounding neighborhood. Like Sol Arnovitz Park, it has also been one of the City’s least developed parks.
The Play Xenia process revealed a need for more seating, trails, a shelter and active recreation options. The proposed concept plan (see right) includes a new gravel trail system, a new gazebo, seating around the existing playground, and a new basketball court. Additionally, the plan includes replacement of portions of mowed-grass fields with wildflower/prairie grass areas to add some visual variety and beauty to the park.
NEARLY COMPLETE! All work is done except for the westernmost portion of the trail system (which will be installed by a developer) and the wildflower meadows.
