Dr. Ireland provided an insightful and little-known look at how Carnegie's built libraries affected library systems and our very culture over the past century. He talked about the incredible evolution of libraries from a highly ordered but "small world view" of Melville Dewey to the ever expanding role of literacy and libraries -- from books to book binding in makers Spaces. He discussed the nonprofit he and his wife began called Third Story Literacy Project that is putting up "Little Free Libraries" throughout the Miami Valley Region and Xenia. This second Carnegie Lunch and Learn Summer Brown Bag Series was held at the Greene County Historical Society, 74 W. Church Street, Xenia.
