City of Xenia Position Announcements:  

DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF
PAY RANGE: $62,067.20 - $93,912.00, DOQ

The City of Xenia, Ohio is seeking qualified application for Deputy Fire Chief. Qualified candidates will have an associate's degree in Fire Science or related field and four (4) years experience of command and control of emergency operations; or any equivalent combination of experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Candidates must hold the State of Ohio Level II Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certifications; and must possess a valid Ohio Motor Vehicle Driver's License and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.

Preferred candidates will demonstrate effective skills in areas of leadership, public relations, policy development and innovation.

VICTIM ADVOCATE
PAY RANGE: $19.15 - $28.93, DOQ

The City of Xenia is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Victim Advocate. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support and advocacy to crime victims through the criminal justice system and provide crisis response assistance to victims and law enforcement. 

Qualified applicants will demonstrate the following:
  • The ability to provide effective advocacy and counseling to victims;
  • The ability to actively listen to others;
  • The ability to display a strong sense of compassion and empathy for others; and 
  • The ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice or related field with two (2) years of related experience in crisis counseling and/or criminal justice; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. The successful candidate must be registered as an Advocate (RA) or higher with the Ohio Advocate Network, or apply for and receive RA certification within two (2) years of hire.

Important Note: If you choose to fill out the application when it appears on your computer screen in the Adobe Acrobat Reader program, any data you enter onto the application form cannot be "saved", but it can be printed. When you close the application form, the data you entered will be deleted. Therefore, if you choose to fill out the employment application form on your computer, be sure to print a copy before closing the program. Completed Applications
Once completed, the employment application can be used to apply for employment opportunities during an application period for a specific position as advertised above by the City of Xenia. Where possible, please print the application as a two-sided copy. Please include other documentation as required for the specific position in which you are applying. Now you are ready to download, view, and/or print the application.
