Four new firefighters, two promoted officers sworn-in during ceremony

Four new firefighters who recently joined Xenia Fire Division were sworn-in Tuesday afternoon in front of family, friends and fellow firefighters.

City Council chambers were packed as the firefighters took their oath with the City of Xenia Law Director Donnette Fisher.

CJ Kline is one of the firefighters who were sworn-in Tuesday; Kline joins Xenia Fire Division from Riverside and Brookville Fire Departments, and has previous experience at Bellbrook and Trotwood Fire Departments. In addition to his career in fire service, Kline is a veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard, where he served as a combat engineer for six years.

Erin Johnson joins Xenia Fire Division with three years of fire experience, most recently with Englewood and Vandalia Fire Departments. Johnson attended Sinclair Community College where she earned her Fire/EMS certifications.

Tyler Castle is a 2017 graduate of Legacy Christian Academy and has previous fire service with Xenia Township and Surgarcreek Fire Departments. Castle is currently enrolled in Sinclair Community College for Fire/EMS science and has also completed his EMS and fire certifications there.

Cameron Jackson joins Xenia Fire Division with two years of fire service, with previous experience in New Jasper Township Fire Department. Jackson completed his EMS and Fire certifications at Clark State Community College and is enrolled currently at Sinclair Community College for his degree in fire and EMS science.

In addition to the new firefighters who were sworn-in Tuesday, two recently promoted officers also took their oath.

Mike Bogan has been with Xenia Fire Division since 1999 and was recently promoted to Captain. Bogan is a Xenia High School graduate and served with Spring Valley Township Fire Department prior to joining the division in Xenia.

Travis Dill began his career with Xenia Fire Division as a volunteer in 1999 and was hired as a full time firefighter in 2001. Dill was recently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
