1. How do I obtain a copy of a police report?

A copy of accident reports and criminal investigation reports can be picked up in the Police Records Division located in the basement of the Justice Center (Former City Hall) located 101 North Detroit Street. Police reports are not available until after 12:00 p.m. on the following business day. However, if a report is still under investigation, the report is not releasable.

2. Is there a cost for obtaining a police report?

A copy of reports can be obtained at the records division at 101 North Detroit St or a request via regular first-class mail. A self-addressed stamped envelope must be sent with your request.

There is a $0.07 per page charge for a report; however, we waive the fee for a request involving 10 pages or less.

Additonally, Accident reports only are available online via the link. There is a fee of $3.00 or you can obtain a free copy at the records division.
